SSL Recommendations and Requirements
Synergis strongly recommends applying an SSL Certificate to your Production Adept Web Server. If your organization licenses Adept Creator or your system will be accessible from the public internet, Synergis requires an SSL Certificate to be applied to your Production Adept Web Server.
You may purchase a Public or Private Certificate—including a wildcard certificate—from a trusted, commercial Certificate Authority (CA), or obtain a Private Certificate from your company’s internal CA. Synergis does not support self-signed certificates.
You may also choose to apply SSL Certificates to your Adept Native Server, Adept File System Server, and/or PublishWave Servers. If you plan to allow your web servers to be accessible from the public Internet, Synergis strongly recommends securing all these servers with SSL certificates.
Please note the following when obtaining your SSL certificate:
The certificate must include a Private Key installed as an exportable private key.
The Subject Alternative Name must be populated with the server's FQDN and any alias names you choose to use to access Adept.
