Known Issues - Adept Clients and Servers
The issues listed below have been reported but remain unresolved. Each issue is identified by its Issue Key, which is used internally by the Synergis team.
Unless the Issue Key appears in the Resolved Issues section of the latest Release Notes, all previously reported Known Issues from earlier versions still apply to the current software release.
Issue Key | Issue Description |
A11-4318 | In the Adept Task Pane for SolidWorks, when an SLDDRW file and its first-generation children are copied out and renamed (resulting in a NEW status), running Prepare for Opening followed by Open for Edit can cause the referenced children to appear suppressed in SolidWorks. As a workaround, manually reconnect the renamed references after opening the drawing. A permanent solution is being developed for a future release. |
A11-4313 | Full Text Search extraction does not populate for DGN files when they are checked in through AWC‑Creator or ATP, resulting in these files being excluded from FTS searches. As a workaround, open the Adept Desktop Client and run Clear Extract, followed by Refresh Extract, to update the FTS index. |
A11-4303 | In the Task Pane for SOLIDWORKS, a checked‑in SOLIDWORKS document opened using Open Read‑only can be renamed without a warning, despite the file being open and read‑only. |
A11-4296 | When logging into Adept Creator using Firefox, Adept Client Services (ACS) does not start automatically, preventing normal Creator functionality. As a workaround, start ACS manually before launching Creator in Firefox; this issue does not occur in Edge or Chrome. |
A11-4293 | Prepare for Opening does not resolve references for SOLIDWORKS drawing (.slddrw) files when only the drawing is checked out, resulting in suppressed and unresolved references when the drawing is opened for edit. As a workaround, check out or copy out the drawing along with its first‑generation children, then run Prepare for Opening on any children that have their own dependencies so SOLIDWORKS can resolve references located in the same folder. |
A11-4255 | The SOLIDWORKS Extraction plugin always displays the Default configuration on the Configurations tab of the Document Dashboard for parts or assemblies with a single Default configuration, regardless of the Always Display Default on Configurations Tab setting. |
A11-4247 | When checking in older SolidWorks files that contain OLE-linked documents (such as embedded Excel sheets), Adept may not automatically extract the related document relationships. As a workaround, users can manually create the relationship in Adept. |
A11-4238 | Running Clear Extracted Data before Refresh Extracted Data in the Task Pane or Web Client may not remove extracted values for files with mapped default properties (including some PDFs and AutoCAD DWGs). The clear action reports success, and a subsequent refresh completes without error, so data loss is unlikely; however, customers should not leave documents in this state and should run Refresh Extracted Data immediately after clearing. |
A11-4221 | When extracting relationships from SOLIDWORKS files in Adept Desktop or Adept Task Pane, linked documents such as OLE objects may not be extracted due to a current parsing limitation with certain OLE data formats. As a workaround, update the SOLIDWORKS document version and re-link the OLE document, or create a manual relationship in Adept to track it. |
A11-4215 | After the new SOLIDWORKS plug‑in is unloaded, it remains listed under Configure Plug‑Ins, and selecting it has no effect. |
A11-4193 | When creating a new Adept server environment and database (from scratch or from a template), the SOLIDWORKS plug‑in is enabled by default (Loaded/Load on Startup = True) while all other plug‑ins are disabled. As a workaround, administrators can manually disable the plug‑in if it is not required. |
A11-4192 | When publishing to TIFF from PublishWave in AutoCAD 2026, jobs may fail with the error “Run Task: At End, Event Name ‘Global\Job Complete’ failed to be set.” This is caused by a known AutoCAD TIFF plotting issue and is not related to Adept or the drawing. |
A11-4188 | When Update Document is disabled for the Inventor PlugIn in Adept Desktop, the Update Document checkbox is correctly disabled on the file’s data card but remains enabled and functional in the Inventor 2026 Task Pane, allowing document updates despite the configured setting. The same behavior was observed with Excel documents as well. |
A11-4177 | Changing the Virtual Library folder name in the SOLIDWORKS Task Pane from the default “AdeptVL” may cause files to be stored incorrectly and prevent the Virtual Library from being cleared, resulting in an error. As a workaround, keep the Virtual Library folder named “AdeptVL.” |
A11-4174 | When Adept Task Pane 11.4.5 is launched on a system running Adept Client Services 11.3.3, the Task Pane fails to start and displays an error message. This occurs even on clean installations. To correct this, install ACS 11.4.5 to match the current Task Pane version. |
A11-4136 | Inventor Substitute relationships may display different relationship types in the Adept Task Pane and the Adept Web Client compared to the Adept Desktop when viewed in the Drawings Info tab, despite referencing the same underlying data. This inconsistency can impact features that rely on relationship typing, such as Stop at Inventor Substitute, Search for Children, and Virtual Library. |
A11-4121 | Customers using Adept Design Center with AutoCAD should be aware that folder paths containing spaces are not displayed in Design Center. As a workaround, do not include spaces in folder paths used for Design Center. |
A11-4088 | When a Top Level Related Field is changed in the Required Fields dialog, the dependent Sub Level field is cleared, but the OK button may remain enabled, allowing users to proceed with a required field empty. With Required Fields and Related Fields enabled, this can also cause newly entered values to save only for previously empty fields, while updates to fields with existing values are silently discarded. |
A11-3917 | On the first launch of the SOLIDWORKS Task Pane on Windows 11, window and form elements may appear misproportioned at lower screen resolutions (e.g., 1024×768), causing ribbon text to overlap the search and results areas. Resizing or maximizing the Task Pane realigns the layout and serves as a workaround. |
A11-3828 | When files are created in an Adept Desktop Work Area by adding them directly to the Windows Explorer Work Area folder and performing a File New extraction, the Adept Date field is not populated until the files are checked in, preventing sorting by Adept Date. This does not affect check‑in or viewing, and the Adept Date is populated after check‑in. |
A11-3811 | In the Adept Task Pane, when Allow sender to edit is enabled for workflow email notifications, Assign, or Send To, adding many recipients can cause the recipient list to overlap, blocking access to the Subject and Body fields. The only workaround is to remove recipients to regain access to these fields. |
A11-3284 | For subassemblies extracted from SOLIDWORKS, the Count field in the Drawing Info tab is not populated for SLDDRW and SLDASM files. These file types do not currently support subassembly instance counting due to an implementation limitation, so the Count value remains 0. |
